Following its founding in 1994, the Foundation worked in our community to enhance and support our schools. It raised funds to benefit district programs and staff. In 2009, the Foundation became inactive; however, our Lewis-Palmer School Board of Education upheld its 501(c)(3) status and filings.

In November 2022, enthusiastic community members aimed to revive the Foundation in support of our schools. Beginning with approximately $25,000 in the Foundation accounts*, the Foundation relaunched their educators innovation grant program in Fall 2023.

D38 Foundation Facts: 

• The Lewis-Palmer School District 38 Education Foundation is a separate entity from the Lewis-Palmer School District. We operate in partnership with the schools to support educators and students.
• ​We are under the exclusive direction and operations of unpaid volunteers comprising a Board of Trustees and Operating Committee. All are community members who avidly support our schools.
• Over 90%** of our donations are granted directly to educators through our two programs, innovation grants and professional development grants.
• Additionally, in partnership with District 38 administration, we operate the Adopt D38 program as our directed donation campaign for donors interested in directing the use of their donations.
